Algerian patisserie in Tahiti

Our story

SEFAR is an Algerian patisserie in Tahiti, online only. We make authentic Algerian pastries by hand, from traditional family recipes, with almonds, butter and a homemade syrup made with Raiatea honey. Everything is homemade, and our flours, eggs and Raiatea honey are organic. Our gift boxes are delivered to your door in Papeete and across Tahiti, and by parcel to the other islands of French Polynesia.

Our boxes

Coffret Fruits & Rose: strawberry, lemon, peach, pear, fig and Algiers rose, hand-shaped in almond paste.

Coffret Miel: baklawa, samsa, makrout, dziriette and m’chakla, coated in a homemade syrup made with Raiatea honey.

Coffret Les Incontournables: the Algerian classics: gazelle horns or tcharek mseker (your choice), m’khabez, makrout el louz (almond makrout), ghribia, ghribiat el warka, kaâk and kikaat.

Coffret Signature SEFAR: the best of our three ranges, the perfect gift.

These four boxes come in 6 or 15 pieces: 1,997 or 4,697 XPF.

Coffret Mechkouk: 12 Algerian almond macarons with orange blossom, in raspberry, pistachio and hazelnut. 3,497 XPF.

Coffret Goûter de Constantine: 6 pots: 2 homemade mhalbi (rice cream) with pistachio, 2 with red berries and 2 orange jams, 2,100 XPF. With 6 mini chrik (Constantine brioche), 2,997 XPF. Delivered in Tahiti only.

Croquets aux amandes: crunchy almond biscuits for tea time, 15 pieces, 997 XPF.

Ghribia: melt-in-the-mouth Algerian shortbread, 15 pieces. Vanilla, chocolate or half and half, 997 XPF. Peanut or lablabi (chickpea flour), 1,200 XPF.

Treat of the month, Nougat de Constantine aux noix: soft Constantine nougat with walnuts and pure Raiatea honey, limited edition, 6 pieces, 1,497 XPF.

How to order

The shop is in French, but ordering is simple: choose your box and its size, click « Ajouter au panier » (add to basket), then follow the checkout steps. Any question? Write to us in English, we will be happy to help.

Delivery

Tahiti, home delivery: 500 XPF in Papeete, Pirae, Arue and Mahina; 700 XPF in Faa’a and Punaauia; 1,000 XPF elsewhere on the island (including Paea and Papara). Free anywhere on Tahiti from 8,000 XPF.

Raiatea, free pick-up: collect your order at La Raie’Gate restaurant in Uturoa. We let you know as soon as it is ready.

Moorea and the other islands, parcel by air (ferry for Moorea): 1,900 XPF, 900 XPF from 8,000 XPF, free from 15,000 XPF.

After the launch, allow 24 to 48 hours once your order is confirmed (once the funds arrive, for a bank transfer). For some islands it may take a little longer, depending on flights and boats.

Payment

Bank transfer: anywhere in French Polynesia. Our bank details are shown at the end of your order, and your box is prepared as soon as the funds arrive.

Cash: on delivery in Tahiti or at pick-up in Uturoa (Raiatea); please have the exact amount ready. Not available for Moorea and the other islands.

Card: secure online card payment is coming soon.

Storage and allergens

Keep your pastries in their closed box, in a cool, dry place, away from heat and sunlight: they keep for about two weeks. Depending on the box, our pastries contain nuts (almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts, pistachios), peanuts, wheat and semolina (gluten), eggs and milk (butter). They are made in a kitchen that uses all these ingredients, so traces cannot be ruled out.
